Embarassing Question.. but World of Warcraft in Hong Kong? Well, among other things!

So I'm going back to Hong Kong for 3 weeks to visit family... I was born there, but thats pretty much all I can say about my HK experiences.. My family moved to Canada when I was 4 and I've never been back..

Anyway, getting straight to the point.. Does anyone know of any Internet Cafe's that have World of Warcraft? More importantly.. Cafe's that have WoW that can access north american servers? I know its lame to be asking about a game when I'm going back to my place of birth for the first time, but whatever :P I've got alot of my friends here in Vancouver that play with me, so it'd be cool to be able to sneak in a little time every now and then so I don't get home sick :P

Any input would be appreciated :P Oh, and if you wanna ridicule me, don't bother :P I've already done that to myself!

Answer to your first part is Yes. There are lots of places that play these types of games. It depends where your going to be based as to how far you have to go to get to one.

Here in Tai Po in the New Territories there are at least 4.

As to the other part . Its to deep for me and I hope ithers can get the infor for you.

I would think the lag time would cause issues with game play. I might be wrong though.

Check out Cyberpro in Causeway Bay. They have WoW set up there.

Lag shouldn't be too much of a problem. I moved a month or two ago and have been playing from Sai Kung country park, and i'm at about 4-500ms latency most of the time. Not as good as the 100-200ms I had in Vancouver, but playable. I'd imagine it would get a little bit better closer to the more populated areas.

At that latency, it takes a bit of getting used to for things like tanking and spell interruption, but you learn to accomodate, and if you're not raiding it's not really a big problem anyways.

For my trips before I moved, I always just tossed WoW onto a crappy laptop. Or burned the patches onto a DVD and installed it where I was staying. If all you are doing is keeping in touch with friends, it's way more convenient to do that, and be able to log in at 4am while you're suffering from jetlag than it is to go out and find a cybercafe.

Thanks for all the great responses! Its good to know there are fellow wowheads like me in HK :P

beakerboy: I don't have a laptop, which is why I would need to seek out a cybercafe with WoW :X

Even with all the great responses, no one has been able to point at a definite place that has WoW that can connect to North American servers... If anyone finds anything out or know of anything, please let me know! Would save me scouring HK for cybercafes.. :P

Any location that has the English version of WoW can connect to the NA servers. That's handled by the client, not the location. Cyberpro should be fine for you, has TBC installed and patched. latency is OK.
