give me a tsuen wan restaurant recommendation

I'm languishing here in Tsuen Wan. I don't want any more Chinese food, nor do I want bad Chinese-made Japanese, or bad Chinese-made Thai, or bad Chinese-made Indian. Not Pizza Hut and not McDonald's. Is this too much to ask? Any recommendations (other than "get out of Tsuen Wan", which certainly is valid)?

You live in Tsuen Wan lol, what did you expect ?

Better jump on the 61M or 53 bus, and take a quick trip up to the Gold Coast , which caters for a 60/40 mix of expat and local culinary requirements..

Fab as, on the weekends, before or after a bit of sailing, or when theres a match being played on the massive 4 x 4 metre projection screen in the pub. Ha Ha and not one pseudo sushi restaurant to be seen.... Just brilliant .

Don't blame me, it was my dad's idea to buy his damn apartment here. I'm just visiting once a year for a week or two and by the end of it I'm ready to slit my wrists. If I ever buy an apartment here you can be sure it'll be in Central or somewhere where there's some actual culinary diversity...

Yes I can relate to what you're saying, hence why I mentioned the Gold Coast Mall, which is an easy 20 minute bus ride from you. Basically in the neighbourhood, but man, its like a different planet comparing here to Tsuen Wan... I visited Tsuen Wan once, that was enough .

Well, thanks for your advice. I'll definitely head out tomorrow. And then buy my dad a real estate guide for HK Island.

Mate, Gold Coast is not on HK island, its up Castle Peak road in the Tuen Mun area, which is close to Tsuen Wan. Get on the 53 or 61M bus. There's an Ebeneezers kebab cafe too, 2 for 1 deal on Mondays, for future reference.

I'm aware of that, I just meant him buying somewhere there so I don't get stuck bussing and taxi-ng everywhere. Sorry for the ambiguity.

Mo men tai la . ha ha thats o.k man, I just thought I'd make sure.

Have fun at the GC mall, The med star cafe/bar is where we usually hang out...

Pretty happening place on a sunny weekend afternoon. If you like el fresco eating with a group of mates, you should like it...
