I'm going to Shenzhen with my buddy this weekend to check out the nightlife. Neither of us have a clue where to go. Can anyone who's been there recommend some good bars, clubs, restaurants, hotels? And anything in particular we should stay away from?

I was in Shenzhen a couple of weeks ago for shopping only. Wondering if there is one area (say a train stop) where expats go to party? My friend and I probably just want to stay in one area rather than go all over the place.

There are a lot of bars and clubs in the Shekou area. It is possible to get there by ferry from Hong Kong or by taking a bus that passes the western corridor. But I think the last ferry/bus back to Hong Kong leaves before 10 pm. The ferry schedule should be somewhere on the Shenzhen party website and possible buses are B3 and B3X from Tuen Mun.
