Don't forget that this is a by election with the seat expiring in nine months; it is also for election to the almost totally toothless Legislative Council. Finally whoever gets elected will show just incompetent they are and stand no chance in the real election next year.

Does it mean one less Beijing puppet in place?
Will it change the (down) trend in any way?
Just wondering...

To be seen.
Was getting a bit worried with the number of people Regina Ip's camp had out on the streets.
By the way, who was the expat who manning the megaphone, at Anson Chan's table, near Sogo in Causeway Bay?

| | | Ling a Ding Ding! Ms Ling won a resounding moral victory with 822 hard fought votes, and is recuperating now in the knowledge of having fought the good fight.
She will shortly become the Asian spokesperson for Bedat Watches who are very famous with very few people , as is the Delectable Ms C.

| | | Personally I'm quite disappointed that more people didn't take the opportunity to register a protest vote about the environment since there was a strong environmental candidate. | |

| | | Ok .. didn't think it was a serious attempt to get elected.
Looked more like a hippy stunt to me -- what with news pieces indicating she is essentially on welfare and had trouble coming up with the election deposit.
Might sound ok if you were trying to get elected on Lamma .. but surely you cant be serious about getting elected in a constituency where 10% (number picked @ random) of the constituent's cars are gas guzzling Mercedes ..

| | | I'm disappointed Regina Ip got as many votes as she did. If she had won, it would've been like the 2004 presidential elections in the US, a pervading sense of WTF and an overwhelming disappointment in the idiocy of the masses. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8.
