visa prior to arrival

i kindda find this site very interesting with regards in visiting hongkong..but right now im having some problems with regards to my visit in hongkong...im a filipina and my fiancee' is a permanent resident in hongkong and he's also from the philippines..iv ebeen visiting him since feburauary this year and stay in hk at least 1 month fro each visit..i always get my visa upon arrival and do a visa run to shenzhen and sometimes go to th eimmigration tower for a visa extension..but my last visa run th eimmigration officer in lo wu put scl in my passport..actually he want me to send back to shenzhen but maybe bec. my fiancee is with me thats why he considered giving me 4 days and put scl in my passport..but we tried to extend it again in th eimmigration tower and they give me another 4 days...my problem now is this..i went back in manila nov.9 and we're planning to apply a visit visa here in the philippines so i wont need to do visa run again and avoid the risk kof being sent back to the phils. upon my arrival in hk..will there be a problem if i apply in the consulate here in manila and is there a chance that they will deny my application?and can somebody tell me whats the meaning of scl??im really hoping you guys will shed some light in my querries..thanks a lot!!

scl means you will be scrutinised more closely and I am sorry but it means it may be difficult to get a visa. You certainly would be pushing your luck if you tried another China run.

I heard that they have stopped issuing visas in the Philippines for Hong Kong, but only a rumour so check it out. It will certainly be easier in Manila than in Hong Kong if they are still doing it (which I guess is why they may have stopped it).

Get married is the simple answer.

If you tell them you are going to HK to arrange the wedding that will improve your chances considerably especially if you can show them some evidence. Good luck and best wishes for the wedding

Alternatively .. get married in Manila (atleast the civil ceremony) and get a dependant visa. You can then go in and out of HK and plan your other wedding.

Substantially more effort than getting married in Hong Kong (as is all Philippines bureaucracy). A third country might be another solution.

Having said that, remember that in applying for a Dependant Visa you will need to prove to Immigration the seriousness and longevity of your relationship, so don't do anything that might harm this process.

actually...my concern is..if the immigration will grant me visa even they put scl in my passport..the wedding will take place soon after i arrive in hk..and im asking you guys about the visa coz im planning to come in hk on dec. to spend xmas and arrage the wedding afterwards...will i take the risk applying my visa here in manila??or if i get denied will they give me if i apply again...my fiancee will send me all the supporting documents that ill show the immigration..will that be sufficient enough??and someone told me that "scl" means "soon country leave" im a bit confused why do they have to write something in the passport which they dont tell the meaning..ive been searching it out in the net but still i havent seen the real meaning of this!!it gets really draining thingking about this things!!

you will be taking a Big risk applying for visa or
traveling to Hong Kong after an scl in your passport, best option for you guys will be to book a wedding date in any of the Hong Kong Marrige registery, attach a copy of Marrige Booking and your BF/ Fncee's HKID copy and apply for a tourist visa in HK Immigration, attache a letter explaining clearly why you are coming to Hong Kong.
dont apply in Manila, application in Hong Kong by your fncee will improve your chances greatly and will pave the way for smoother dependent visa application after your Marrige...good luck
