I used colour pencils, copying the butterflies and adding a slight shadow underneath to try and bring them 'off the page' a little. Initially I made 4 few sets of 3 butterflies, and gave them to friends and relatives, though seeing as I've got some time on my hands at the moment, I thought I'd do some more and see if I could make some cards for Christmas / New Year / Chinese New Year (or just leave inside blank).
It's quite therapeutic drawing these, each one can take between 15-20 minutes, so about an hour for the set. Funny thing is, when I gave a set to a friend , he thought I was actually giving him the frame, and that the picture behind the glass was one of those pics that come with the frame - how we laughed. Ah happy days
I think the next sets will be of butterflies indigenous to Hong Kong. I could ask around the hotels if they have a gift-shop, I suppose, or just take a stool down and sit down by the harbour. LOL you might even see me down there in the weeks before Christmas, so please say hello!
