hey yea i use hcareers.ca, never see any cruise advertisements on them. i think ur cruise ship thing is a great idea, i plan to work 1 year and go on vacation, so working for cruises under contract might just be the thing... how would i deal with taxes tho? pay canadian n american gov't for taxes? or just canadian? n what forms n documents would i need for this process and the hiring/working in unitedstates/sea? also, montreal has cruise ships? i thought only vancouver did in canada.. n maybe the atlantic.. but montreal? the only thing iremember from montreal is cheap strip clubs and crazy drunks on the streets haha

You can also try www.catererglobal.com . They have a large number of hospitality jobs on their website or for just cruise ship jobs try www.cruiselinesjobs.com . Bear in mind that you have to be a special type of person to work on a cruise ship as it is mostly working 7 days and living in a space about the same size as your wardrobe at home. Only very senior positions get their own cabin and the salary scale quoted earlier would surprise me greatly (a hotel manager or F&B director would usually be worth about $4k - $7k US per month, not per week and be on a 6 month contract) I have had a few friends that have done it and about half have sworn to never speak of it again, whilst some loved it. Good luck with your choice.

For all I know, my professor told me there's a Cruise ship coming into Montreal in January and me+colleagues/students, are going to take a tour on it. After that, I'll give you more information directly from the person that runs the ship. Ever thought about Ice-Carving as a job? It pays well if you're good or average... Around $125+ per hour. Usually 8 hour shifts. And taxing, not too sure about everything yet. But I do know working overseas, the trick is to open a Swedish Bank Account and have your money dropped in there so it's "International" income and has nothing to do with Canada. So if you come back, they have no right to tax you because it's money you made outside Canada... =) I'm still learning everything about it so far, so I'll find out more things and let you know when I can. Ciao~

hey thanks, ill be waiting for those info, im sure itll be worth while. the only problem is im in toronto. help me ask if they hire people from toronto, and where i can go to contact an agent for their cruise lines. as for taxes, i dont think it matters where you live, legally.. you have to pay tax if you're a canadian citizen working overseas, you wont have to pay for USA tho if say.. you work for a cruise in the states. but yea, i guess if i opened a swedish account they cant know about my revenue. thanks for the tips tho!
