travel bag for laptop and DSLR camera with kit

Basically I want a travel bag to carry both my eee pc (i.e. tiny 7 inch!) and my DSLR along a spare lens and a flash. Also, if at all possible have some spare space for general other bits and bobs.

I'm looking for something which is reasonably small so I can take it as part of my two piece hand luggage.

I've had a look around, mainly at Wanchai computer market, and most of the stuff is a bit too big for what I'm looking at and also has no other room apart from the camera and laptop with room for a few accessories.

Anyone has any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!!!

Ah, you have an Eeepc! I've been so tempted, but figure that Asus is keeping the cost deliberately high. Also waiting for the lower power version in April.

Have you looked at the specialised Lowe Pro backpacks from the camera stores? They are compartmentalised and well padded. They do tend to be a bit bulky though.

An alternative is a messenger bag by Timbuk2 or Crumpler. Some models have a slot for a laptop (kind of big for an EeePC, but you could fit papers and books in there too). Wrap the camera and lens in Zing neoprene wraps (the camera store nearest LKF on Wellington St or order from B&H in the US).
