First of all, you need to know which ISP provides service to your location. Their coverage is different. PCCW provides the best coverage.
IMO, HKBN provides the best network service.
For the pricing, you can always got around 2x% discount if you don't choose those package with gift redeem. (I'm a local. So, I don't know whether expat can get such offer as you need some negotiation.)
HKBN BB25 - Around HK$150.
One more word, never try i-cable...

I would recommend HKBN if you have coverage at your area as its tariff is reasonable and the internet speed available is higher than the other providers. My folks are using it , and they a happy with the 25 mb internet

FYI, PCCW is a company with longer history in the market, however expensive and slow I would say (it is using ADSL).But at the end of the day, PCCW (Netvigator) has the most coverage so sometimes it is not depends on you to choose. Like my case, where I live only got PCCW as a ISP, the highest speed option for me is only 6mb and I pay even more than me folks. But me folks are using 25mb

If you look for very cheap tariff, i cable is your option. But u have to expected that u may end up with slow internet and crap service as thats what they a famous for.

We switched from PCCW to Pacific Supernet 3 years ago and the difference was spectacular! Much better service, hotline and performance.
ll the ISP's rent cable space from PCCW anyway right?

PCCW have started rolling out passive fibre to compete with HKBN's BB100, BB200, and BB1000 services. Most likely crap internationally.

As far as i no, HKBN are more stable as they run the high speed broadband business for a few yrs already, but PCCW just started doing all the fibre optic thingy. Cant believe a big company like PCCW catching up so slow on da tech....disappointing.

However both of their adverts are hilarious~

If you realise the head of PCCW is the son of Li Kai Shing and is well known for his ************************************************** ****
He has been trying to sell all his shares, even at a very cut price rate to go and do property development. The handcuffs are locked to his desk and no one has the key. The lack of dynamic activity is well documented at the company.

Curiously, amongst those of us who actually know about these things PCCW is recognised as the world's leader in IPTV.

I feel you should update Wikipedia ( IPTV ) as its not given one single reference in the whole of the item ( inc links ). Accordingly PCCW doesn't even exist, which actually explains a lot -- to those of us in the know !!!
