| You didn't read my post properly. I didn't clear part 2 and consequently didn't retry. So I am not practising for a no. of reasons, the main obviously being that I didn't get my license. I also figured that to have a practice I would need mostly english speaking patients...and would have to work in areas where mostly expats live etc. Won't be able to cater to locals due to language barrier. I'm not sure how busy practice is in HK. The local people sure look like they need more treatment but don't seem to be getting it done. So Sorry I can't help you with how practice is in HK as I've kind of decided to explore other avenues.
Are you planning to move to HK or moving only if you get a license ? Other dentists I met during the exam, many of them had flown in just for the exam. All 3 parts are held within a space of 2-3 weeks in december. So you could apply from whereever you are and then just come a few days before the exam. A couple of dentists were giving it for the third or fourth time. If you are moving to HK anyway then you could try becoming an assitant with a practising dentist. When I first moved I did try to do that. A dentist in central (a part of HK) was looking for a nurse but I applied and he had no problem with hiring me as his assistant/nurse provided you are allowed to work in HK that is. I am on a dependant visa issued prior to July 2003 so could work with him. But then I ended up not taking up that position. The dentist mentioned that his former assistant was also a dentist from the phillipines trying to get his license in HK.
Hope this information helped. Good luck.
