taxes

I have moved last year to HK. Received from revenue department tax return form.

I have following questions:
1. Till when can I submit this form?
2. I have a lumpsum salary... no separate house
allowance, can I claim tax-rebate for the house
rent I am paying.

Thanks for your inputs

-- You have to submit within 1 month.

-- You can claim the tax allowance if your company seperates the income on the return that they file (all companies file a return to the govt).

They have to seperate it as follows

Salary :- X
Rent reimbursed to employee :- Y
Total :- Z

The total should end up being what your total package is right now. Perfectly legal and most companies who have an HR or finance department that does the returns will know how to do it.

If the company has already filed the return, you'll need to email the IRD to find out more info.
