Dependent Visa

I'm sure this question has been asked many times.

My husband and I are both American citizens. He has a work visa and his company is filing the paperwork for my dependent visa. Will I be able to work legally with a dependent visa or do I need to obtain a work visa as well?

You can work freely without any further paperwork (which is more than he can - he is restricted to the company sponsoring his visa).
