An expat looking to meet new people

Hey

29 yr old male expat from Australia, I am new to this site so am looking to see what its all about!
I have been in HK for nearly a year, recently split with my partner and so would like to meet some people? How does one do that here? get drunk in LKF?
Anyway I am a teacher and like hiking, live music and socialising.

Hi

Hi,

I'm a local residence here, working in an advertising agency in Causeway Bay. and do sometimes go LKF.

You may leave me a message if you want to meet new friends.

If you're the type

If you're the type to head out to meet people by getting drunk, then LKF is the place for it.

Otherwise, try joining a hiking group, or one of the meet and greets here that they plan once in a while. If you're a teacher - go to centralized pd (if you're a NET).

Getting drunk in LKF probably is the best way to turn each other off? lol Not my cuppa tea, people watching is fun there tho.

I'm curious, is there anyway to get vegemite locally in HK? Been craving for it! Aussies are cool, miss surfing in Surfers Paradise

I'm living in central too, just moved here a couple weeks ago. My name is also NickM

I saw vegimite at park and shop. that stuff scares me.

I like getting drunk in LKF so message me.

My friend

Whenever you are craving anything from another Country I find Taste supermarket in Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong the place to go. Vegemite is strangely becoming more common then just inside Taste supermarket. I find it becoming more common strange because I don't know "thaaat many" Australians in Hong Kong.

Sometimes Australians come over and visit, they bring a jar thinking 'poor Dean living in Hong Kong, he must need a really big jar of Vegemite'. I say this as an Australian, I think it taste "LAAP SAAP ??".

(or rubbish). My friends and family back home better not be reading this

Sidenote: 'GREAT' supermarket in Two Pacific Place, Admiralty also do an excellent range of other-country foods. Caters for all the expats working in the area. It's hidden away on one of the lower floors.

I might be interested in going out to LKF sometime, Chicagoland. (I'm from Indiana so I usually just tell people it's near Chicago because most people haven't even heard of my pathetic state but since you're from Chicago you probably know just how boring Indiana is.) Anyway, haven't been LKFing for a while. Last time I went to Insomnia on a Thursday and there wasn't even standing room. Do you know any good bars in LKF where one could actually carry on a conversation?
