| Spend some time apart ... distance will either make your heart grow fonder or it will make it wander. I have a feeling immd will not be too sympathetic in granting a long term visa in this situation given that they do need to see some evidence that you've been in a long term relationship etc ... (which again your divorce lawyer might not like show up on public record).

| I think KIA has it right. You can only get an extended visitor visa if you can demonstrate a long-term relationship and intent to marry. You can only get a Dependant Visa when you are married (and even then it can take a while). Having said that, once you are divorced you can get married at 14 days notice with very little fuss or cost. The other option would be to employ her as your Domestic Helper. | Why not just sign for her as your domestic helper? If your gf is here as a tourist she'll have to leave HK for a few months while the application is pending. If she is currently a DH she can wait until she finishes her current contract or break it and exit HK for up to 2 months. But seriously, why rush from a marriage into another relationship? So many pretty girls in HK. Take your time, get your divorce over with (may take a long time) and choose wisely. Give yourself some space. This is only a personal opinion but I find there are just too many lovely girls in HK to ever be able to settle for one. IMHO, the best way for a single/newly divorced guy to live in HK is to get a part-time domestic helper (not legal unless she is a PR but readily available) and date as many girls as you want. No entanglements, no hustle. It's not for everyone but it works for me. Never been happier... |
