Thumbs down Outrageous Staff

I've found Pure Fitness staff at the receptions of Kinwick and IFC very impolite.

Pulling long faces + Mute !!!

Thumbs down Skyrocketing-- Locker Fee

Anyone willing to pay $250 for a locker ?

The fee has been increased to $150.

Has the rent been increased?

Or is this another source of profit?

Or the higher locker fee is to subsidize the new PT who just walks around ?

Question Fitness First Platinum

Does anyone know what the Platinum thing is ?

Should I switch to Fitness First from Pure Fitness?

What's the locker fee and monthly fee at Fitness First?

Just for the record, I've never faced a problem with Pure Fitness reception staff at Kinwick. Have almost never seen them pull long faces or be impolite or mute.

However they are pretty expensive, that's for sure. I've never comapred prices but I'm told that they are the most expensive in town

Same as goodfood. No impolite experiences with their staff -- all pretty professional given the scope of their service.

Don't know about their personal trainers .. whole thread dedicated tothat elsewhere.

I kinda agree with Sauvignon. When I first got to this country, I usually greeted the front desk staff at Kinwick with a smile - and "how you doing", when rocking up to gym to swap my card for my keys. After a couple of weeks of sour face responses from the reception, I've toned it down to just giving my card to them and avoiding eye contact altogther. I think for front counter staff they can definately improve on their people skills. Surely they are paid for more than their skills to swap cards for keys right ? They smile and joke with each other but definately think that their customers are a cut below them.

The class instructors are pretty friendly lot though - and a big difference to their reception staff. Don't know about the PTs.

While we're griping about Pure - what is it with some of the local HK customers in the ladies room ? - they leave their flip flops on the floor in front of their lockers when they go train, and leave their shoes outside when they go to the shower leaving everyone else to trip over their shoes. Isn't that what a locker is for ? I've been very tempted to dump these random shoes which I keep tripping over in the bin to make a point.

sour and long faces ! I really don't feel welcome there. Well, regarding the randomly scattered shoes and flipflops...I don't know about the ladies' but the men's are the same... People think they own the whole passage and rarely give way.

I believe they can't have lockers...the monthly fee was raised from 150 to 250. That's why.

HOw can they be so profiteering...lockers are supposed to be part of the service...they can make profit from it but should not be that huge a profit...it's extorting people out of money !

Baajee, the PTs are alright but not all of them are professional. why don't you try Fitness First?

Heh, the ole trainer and flip flop problem. same thing at FF as well.

Re the locker thing, bit of a joke really, esp as Pure prices are so high.

However, like everything else in life, there is a choice, no-one is asking you to go and use Pure. There are plenty of other gyms around.

I'm guessing you are talking about shoe/small lockers in which you can keep stuff 24/7 as the regular lockers are free of charge. I put my shoes in the bottom of them as there is plenty of room. Also there is a floor to ceiling rack for shoes so you can also put them there too during your workout.
