Something to kill boring work laptop

I got used to being able to do anything with my work laptop but suddenly ended up in a situation that I can't use it for this and that.

Hence I'm thinking of buying a new toy to complement my boring work laptop when I travel, so it should be:

- as small as possible
- run Skype calls & video calls (over WLAN) as flawlessly as a decent PC does
- some storage for music, videos... (min. 8GB, preferably at least a few times more)

A couple of really new gadgets that come close to those req's seem to be these:

Nokia N810 Internet Tablet

Asus EEE PC

More suggestions welcome...

Yup I'd recommend the Asus and I'll be getting one for myself when I'm back in town, But as the Asus only comes with 4gb of Flash memory of course you need to factor in a 4gb memory stick as well, Which nowadays should not cost much.

The internet tablet screen will kill your eyes after a while, I have a 770 internet tablet and its fine for brief occasional browsing but after 10 minutes or so it kills my eyes

How about one of these?

www.oqo.com

Expensive, but one heck of a 'toy' to have around

I'm a bit sceptical about the OQO, "full Windows Vista in your pocket". So many worms in your pocket!!! Seriously, I think OQO is a bit over-specified for my need and certainly overpriced (vs. Asus EEE/Nokia N810).

anyone know ETA in HK?

BTW is HK$3,000 with the 16GB flash memory or with 8GB?

I guess it's about USD400 with 4GB flash, so about HKD3000+ for the same - 8GB is not available probably this year and 16GB is not even announced.

Checked Wanchai computer center this weekend and nobody seemed to know when EEE is coming.

I decided to wait a few months anyway, as always it's better to leave bugfixing to others, and I particularly want to see that Skype video camera driver for Linux in action before I start spending my time with this, would be eager to try it though...
