Hi all
I am new to the site and just have a few questions about finding apartment for a single on $10-12k budget. i work near edinburgh tower on queen's road, central, and prefer to be able to walk to work, so i'm wondering

- what area would you look? i'm hoping for somewhere near, but not right in the middle of all the action
- i never lived in hk before, so what size aprt is the usual for one person
- how necessary is it to have gym in the building - do ppl usually use gyms near work or near home?

How far / how long are you happy to walk at 32 degrees / 90% humidity? If it isn't at least 15 minutes then your choices are going to be very limited at that price range.

You should be able to get a place in Hospital or Caine roads, Midlevels for that budget, but be warned, your rent upon signing the next contract, may go up 30%, its a bit volitile at the moment... You'll also get pretty familiar using taxi's most places, between the months of May & September, especially if you're dressed in business attire.
