Dog Boarding

Hi
Can you recommend a good dog boarding place? I tried the SPCA and they are fully booked over the next bank holiday and the entire Christmas period.
I travel a lot so the dog will be staying there quite often and I'm a bit concerned that without knowing I'll be leaving him frequently in a not so nice place with people who might mistreat him - can you tell me your experiences and suggestions with the different boarding places?
It would be ideal to find a place on the island but if they provide pick service then it doesn’t matter.
Thanks for your help,
Serge

Have heard good things about DB dog days. The dogs stay with a family. Can find the web site elsewhere in this forum. Or, if you're really gone a lot and have room, hire a helper.

I had to leave my dog once when my helper was away and we used Ferndale Kennels and Cattery, which was also nice. http://www.ferndalekennels.com/

Either of these options would be much nicer than the SPCA, which although safe, does not provide much individual attention or exercise time for the dogs.

lulumay is an unknown quantity at this point.
I personally do not like the SPCA boarding kennels in Wan Chai. We visited the facilities a few times, before and after the recent renovations. Apparently the dogs never get walked. Each dog goes out individually to the little deck 3 times a day for very short period of time, rain or shine. The cleaning lady said no more than 5 minutes each time. They pee and poo out there. None of the dogs get any human or canine interaction the whole time they are there. I don't think this is a humane way to board a dog.

thanks, i'm trying to post more... that's the problem that i'm having, it's not letting me do it...argh!

i've been trying for weeks and everytime i try it deletes what i already have and then won't let me insert any more.

my computer savvy step-father is coming in a couple of weeks and i plan on overhauling the entire website then.

if you'd like some photos, i'd be happy to email them to you.

By the way... I don't know if you've read my other thread but I'm still looking for a dog walker in Kennedy Town, does anyone know where or how to find one?
Cheers
Serge
