Buying a Thinkpad t61p

Hi,

I'm planning to buy a IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad T61p. Has anyone seen these models in the shops in Hong Kong?

I'm currently living in Shanghai. Here I've only found two stockists, both of which are stupidly expensive compared to the USA (and even UK price.)

I'm thinking of comming to Hong Kong to pick one up direct from a store/electronics market.

I assume all electronic stores/markets are open sundays like here in Shanghai? Are there any issues with customs I should be aware of? The laptop will be leaving China with me a few months later.

Any help appreciated

Hi there,

Thinkpad T61 is available in hk. There are various config available depends on screen size, processor speed, harddisk & ram, etc.

use this site here as a point of reference: http://www.pccwshop.com/onlineshop/s...SSORIES&id=104
the PCCW retail shops offers good deal from time to time but mostly MSRP.
Retail chains such as Broadway, Fortress, and Tailin also come into mind if looking for dependable service/product.

And yes they do open 7 days a week.

Doubt customs would be an issue. Never in HK. No longer in China
