Does anyone know how much it would cost to have someone desing a simple web page (nothing fancy) just news updates and events and a domain registration / server storage fees. I'm trying to set up a site for my university alumni club in HK and just wanted to price up a ballpark figure how much I would need to dish out for something like this.

Well depending on feature set i think you can use the Limbo CMS, or mambo or other open source management systems.
Free website space can usually be handed out by the university itself, i suggest you contact their IT department.
Or you can use one of the many free hosts out there.
Domain names cost about 6-9USD per year to register.

Sounds like you could just setup on a free blog, picking one at random: Google's Blogger: https://www.blogger.com/start I think you can also upload pictures via Google Picasa too, should make things really easy to manage.

The domain name registration fee is around HKD250 per year. Yet, some hosting companies do offer domain name registration, web hosting and maintenance, web designer, etc. But the price varies differently. You may also contact your university computer depart for information.

So where do I go to register a doman name in HK? The one place I found through google was $1200HKD for 3 years which seemed a bit steep. Any posted links to the registration sited would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks.
