Nintendo Wii and Home Telephones

Hi Everyone! As we're packing for our move to HK, there are a couple items in question.

Will these work in HK?

1. Home telephones
2. Nintendo Wii game console

Thanks in advance! Geoexpat sure is making the relocation process easier. =)

audiodesign is an unknown quantity at this point.
You need a step down converter for the Wii, as it needs to be lowered from 220V HK to the native voltage which is around 110 or 120 if its USA, 100 if its Japanese.

Not sure about the phone, if it takes 110 u need another stepdown, the phone line can be plugged in here no problem as i think the phone jacks are the same

Doesnt the Wii have an independant power supply which can be replaced?

Something like this?

Phone jacks are the same standard RJ11 ... if your phone is powered (i.e. cordless or answering machine) .. you can buy a replacement power supply for it

Properties with sockets that haven't been changed in the last 3 or 4 years will still be the UK-style, but you can get an adaptor for a few HK$ (or replace the socket for a few HK$ more).

When you get a new connection from PCCW, chances are they'll switch the connectors for you.

Given that they're also the defacto choice these days for broadband etc .. more than likely it will be switched for you.
