| | | Corporate Banking Salaries/Compensation Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me by providing me with a range of salary for corporate banking positions? Specifically, this is a Senior Relationship Manager/Relationship Manager position in a foreign-owned bank. Somd research I found says the salary is between HKD180K - HKD 300K. Seems rather modest to me if compared to pay in US, Canada or UK. Please help! Thanks!

| | | Hi Sue-Sue and welcome...surf on over to the following recruitment sites, and check their respective research pages. They have downloadable PDF's with salary comparisons and guides. Some are reasonably up to date, others are not.
Hudsons
JobsDB
Roberts Walters
If you can't find them PM me and I'll e-mail them to you.
Also, there are plenty of postings in the forums. To find them, use the search function up the top. Very handy feature!
Cheers, Cindy

| | | I would think it would also depend on the type of relationships you'd manage. HSBC premier relationship managers probably pull in 20-25K a month while (not necces at HSBC) private and offshore relationship managers pull in a fair bit more from what I've seen. | |

| | | i think corporate banking <> the personal bankers selling unit trust. that said, with so many ppl eager to jump on any banking job, its going to press the price down.
anyway, corporate banking = coverage of local client. cantonese is necessary ?

| | | Thank you all for all the suggestions and help.
As far as I know, Corporate bankers are definitely not the same as personal bankers who market to retail clients (HSBC premier, etc..). The job I was referring to services large companies ( MNCs, local non-retail corporates), making loans to them and etc. I guess I should have outlined more details to the job I was researching into. Apologise for any confusion. Cantonese is a bonus as at times I was told that you need to be presenting to CFO's when dealing with local companies. But English is mandatory because this is a foreigned-owned bank headquartered in North America.
I checked the Robert walters, Hudsons and etc pdfs.. Robert Walters had a 180K to 300K per annual and same goes to one other company. But I find it hard to believe as in North Amercia, say Canada, an entry level corporate banking associate already gets CAD$80K. I know one cannot just convert this CAD80K to HKD and expects the pay to be like HKD600K per annum. But I feel that 180K - 300K is just too modest...I wonder what is the sample size for those surveys.

Banking salaries in HK are comparable to US and higher than UK (even at current exchange rates) for equivalent jobs in international banks.

| | | Thanks.. Back2HK. I only quoted what I found from Robert Walters and from one other.. dont remember which... You can see it for yourself in their website that I am not exaggerating... If you agree that it is way off, that's good because I had real suspicion too. Would it be possible to provide some facts to support your comment? Thanks! | |

| | | i think it depends on the role.
and i have definitely heard of packages in UK that are far far far more lucrative than those i saw in hk. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 02:58 AM.
