looking to travel before and during cny. is it cheapest to book now or wait a little bit. looking to go to either korea (south) or thailand.

I dont think most travel agents will have price lists for CNY yet.. they are busy with the October holiday and christmas time bookings.

I had difficulty getting a holiday sorted for CNY last year. I tried booking early and was told price lists werent out yet. so i waited until Jan time and was told most places were booked!! my travel agent recommended next time to book directly after christmas ie 26/27/28 dec.. that is unless tour operators havent booked out plane seats enmass already..

i went to my travel agent last night and they said the prices arent out yet but i called CX before and they said i can book already. so i went to another travel agent and they could reserve seats for me already for AUGUST 2008!

earlier the better I would say, I've already booked my trip to Whistler for CNY and the prices on CX are already 2 or 3 times what they are at other times

CNY is a MAJOR holiday in this part of the world....BOOK NOW!

there are NO cheap tickets and you need to book very early!

i think it depends also where you want to go?

packages (flight/hotel) around asia wont be available yet at local travel agents atleast, but america/europe places would be... esp if you are looking online at early bird specials..

i should start looking for ideas as to where to go..

unless you are flying direct, you will have problems getting to USA & Canada unless you book soon....what happens is that the asian portion is fully booked (ie. HK-TKY is full, but TKY-YVR is ok). this has happened to me on many occasions. and i've tried: tokyo, seoul, taipei, manila, shanghai....
