Relocating to Hong Kong

Hey Everyone~

I am new to this website and I wanted to ask a few questions about relocating to Hong Kong. I am a 25 y/o American female (white) and I have a degree from a university in the US. I have been teaching English in Seoul now for 3 years. I have had the opportunity to visit Hong Kong several times and am in love with the city. At this point I am also looking for a career change..so my questions would be-

1. Are there many teaching jobs for teachers who are not certified but have relevant experience? (I also love to teach younger children and I know that in the US you do not need your degree to be in a certain discipline. Mine are in Psych and Edu with a minor in Spanish)

2. Can you make money teaching in Hong Kong? Around how much a month? What is usually included? Health? Apartment etc?

3.Are there other jobs out there for Americans or any foreigner for that matter who does not wish to teach but is university educated and does not speak Chinese-Mand or Cant?

If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. I would also return the favor by answering any questions anyone has about living and working in Seoul. Thanks

1. Having a certification will help, but with your experience you may be able to find something without a cert. Not sure if/how not having a certification affects immigration/ visa process.

2. Other posts address this...try a search...Apartment won't be included, but depending on the position/ employer you might get some sort of allowance for housing.

3. Not very likely - need to have particular experience/skills, for a particular job, that is not available locally to get a work visa. University grads without a professional degree and/or not working in finance/law/medicine or teaching generally have a hard time with this. Could try for executive assistant type positions where fluent English is a necessity, but Cantonese/ Mandarin would generally also be required. Could also try looking for other jobs that require excellent English skills (possibly copy editing at a financial printer or English language publication - but not sure these are "careers").
