WHY?? Salary for French Speaker Higher than Vietnamese Speaker Why does a French speaker get more than the Vietnamese speaker? FOUND IN CLASSIFIED TODAY 1 month project based. Need French or Vietnamese speakers to make outgoing calls to verify some companies information that we hold on hand. Of course, English speaking is also a must for our internal communication. $30 per successful records for French speaker, which may earn around $2300. $25 per successful records for Vietnamese speaker, which may earn around $1200.

maybe because it's a supply vs. demand, maybe it's easier for them to find v speakers vs. f speakers... ? or maybe their French clients are paying them more than their Vietnamese clients... there can be many reasons...

No, the first job requires one language, the second job requires a different language.

Balance of expectation- a Vietnamse person is more likely to work for HKD1200 than a French person. Unfortunate but true.

Part-Time Caller Hello! Noted that many of you find the ad. Actually, the ad is posted by me. The reason for the salary of the French speaker is a little bit higher than the Vietnamese speaker is due to the time gap problem. The French speaker need to call the customers in HK time afternoon and night, but the Vietnamese speaker can call the customers during our HK normal office hrs. And the reason for French salary of the whole project is more than Vietnamese project is because of the French papers are more than the Vietnamese papers. So, who have interest to do these project? e-mail your details to me by zoey_lam@iclp.com

yeah, unfortunately Lammarite is rite, much as we like to think equality for all, it's not really the case... i't sjust like they can pay a better looking person or younger person more than an older/uglier person here in Asia... it's really discrimination. if i were the company, i would post 2 separate ads... but then again $$$$ - anyways, stuff like this if you are truly passionate about it, see if you can do something about it - or else you'll need to just pick your battles out there..

zoey.... your answers don't fly with me. it's a PART TIME job so whether i work evenings, mornings or hours that normal permanent workers do..... the rate should still be the same. also it is irrelevant whether there are more papers or not. it's the same type of work, and the vietnamese speaker should get the same rate as the french speaker. if i do 30 papers, i should get the same wage as the french speaker gets for doing 30 papers too.. it is discrimination, and it is sad that companies can get away with it.
