Only if their workers are entitled to work legally in HK. A lot of these companies will send their workers over on visitors visas and have them work which is clearly illegal. There was a case recently where an illegal construction worked was killed and it was judged that the family were entitled to compensation. There is no insurance you can take out to guard against unforeseen events like this!

So most of them dont have the permission? Is there any way to check on the company if they hold these permits?

HK Seifu's cost $700HKD per day to employ, why are you even considering employing Shenzhen employee's ? We just finished an extensive 2 month renovation of our apartment, and to be perfectly clear, labour here is cheap as chips if you directly contract, and avoid going through 3rd parties... And you can be assured, Shenzhen construction workers are not permitted to work in HK, full stop... The few that do sneek in accross the border are working illegally for porridge wages, and largely exploited by HK scab bosses. Last edited by Skyhook; 17-09-2007 at 05:58 PM.
