Buying Asprin

Does anyone know where to buy Asprin in Hong Kong? I am told it is considered a controlled substance, and only get it by prescription. I have not found it in any store, Mannings or Park n Shop, nor in any pharmancy. Any help in finding a small package would be wonderful. I need it for my health.

Ask any of the medicine shops for Bayer Asprin. Its readily available everywhere.

I take it you need it as part of a treatment for high blood pressure.

Rani.
Bayer Asprin is an approved product as the dosage is designed for blood pressure problems. I have used it here and is widely available. Assprin for headaches it is no longer relevant as paracetamol is much more effective and does not suffer the bleeding side effect if used long term.

My husband buys Bayer aspirin at Watsons. It's on the shelf; thin, green and white box. We had to ask a clerk to locate it for us.

Thanks for mentioning a store: Watsons. All other posts were interesting, but didn't answer my question. I'll check Monday. Also, was it Watsons Pharmacy, since they are separate from the general merchandise Watsons.

I don't think it needs to be a pharmacy - aspirin is an OTC drug here (unlike ibuprofen, which does need to be got from a pharmacy counter (but doesn't need a prescription)).

It was on the shelf near the pharmacy area in Watsons. You can always ask the pharmacist and he/she can direct you to non-prescription items as well.

Again, thanks for the help. I was not able to find it before, but now I will look for Bayer and green box. It is a important part of home medicine. Not only headaches, but for thinning blood for hypertension.

Example: about three years ago I had a brain anurysim (misspelled). It happend very suddenly. I thought it was food poision because I lost everythng eaten that day. But the headache was blinding and I could not walk or do anything but sleep. It was two days before I got better. And I had taken almost 15 asprin to kill the pain.

A month later, it happened again, but this time I passed out and was rushed to hospital where I underwent surgery for 5 hours.

The doctors all told me that taking the asprin over a month to kill pain actually saved my life by thinning the blood and vessels in my brain.

Today, I am well and healthy. Oh yes, I was told I only had a 50-50 chance of recovery, but it turned out to be 100 per cent.

Not bad for a 65 year old!

Oh yes, it was not in Hong Kong, where there was 100 percent certainy I would have died or been crippled.

Asprin can save your life.
