| | | iPod prices in HK I'm going to HK next month, and I'm thinking of buying the new iPod. How much are iPod prices in HK?
I'd like to know the prices for both the 80G and the 160G Classic.
If its not that much cheaper than here in Canada, then I will get one here. But if it is ridiculously cheaper in HK... then I can wait
Thanks! | |

| | | iPod prices in Hong Kong Have a look at this page on the Hong Kong apple site. The prices are normally the same as apple at most of the official resellers. In some of the computer marts you may get 10 or 20 dollars off but not much more than that.
Hope this helps.
Take care,

| | | from what i've noticed, hk electronics isn't that much cheaper anymore... actually I think laptops etc are even more expensive than the states... brands like apple... prices are pretty stagnant... hk isn't really an 'electronics shopping haven' like it was before I think... actually come to think of it, not sure what 'deals' hk is known for since everything kinda expensive or same as prices back in the states. | |

| | | Laptops are actually cheaper in the US after rebates n stuff. I had mine shipped from the US and saved almost $10,000 HK by doing so. | |

| | | Apple implements price fixing, apart from currency variations on the Apple Store you can save all of HK$100 by cash in some stores (Fortress, etc). | |

I'm not calling bullshit but I am calling 'Say What?'. | No kidding eh? I spent $10,000 HKD on a new laptop in Japan, and it's pretty much loaded (for a compact laptop). Core 2 Duo, 2GB ram, 7200 RPM hard drive; basically everything but an external video card.
To SAVE that much on a laptop, it must be worth like $10,000 USD to begin with! | |

| | I bought one of the first Core Duo machines back in 2005. It was $25,000 through Dell HK (and they didn't stock the GEForce Go 7800 or Windows Media Center '05 at the time). It's a Dell E1705 with Core Duo 2.0, GeForce 7800 256, 1 gb RAM (I upgraded it to 2) and a 100 gb HD. It's already somewhat outdated, but it's fine for my needs (for now).
My cousin recently bought a fully loaded Asus 13" with way better specs for $14,000. When I'm ready to upgrade, I can't wait to see what $14,000 will get me.

| | | Ah Dell HK back in 2005, that makes sense. Their prices are good now; when a special is on, they are right in line with Dell's US site. Servers cost way more though, I'm not sure about desktops. | |

| | 8 months ago,we purchased a Samsung Q35 core 2 duo note book with an optional 1GB of extra ram, and 100GB hard drive, built in wifi, blutooth, dvdwriter, laminated 16 x 9 screen etc, all the goodies you expect these days, for $10,000. Chosen mainly as it was one of the lightest and most travel friendly notebooks available.
It might have been cheaper in the US, as most things are, but even that considered, you get a lot of pc goodness for todays $$$ compared to 5 years ago.
