Want to go on a diving holiday in November

I come in search of ideas, help and suggestions!!

I want to head out for a week sometime in November (well the first few weeks of November) for a bit of beach relaxation and diving.

I have no idea where would be good that time of the year.

I've been to Thailand and Peninsula Malaysia for diving, so want to try somewhere new.

Could you very nice people suggest any places?

I'm not looking to stay in a fancy resort or anything (a simple room with a fan a/c is would be fine).

Now, the next thing is how does one go about booking the hols!!

People rave about Palau, but its a bit of a trek to get there, no direct flights. Truk Lagoon has awesome WW2 wrecks. Puerto Galera, Philippines is very good as well.

Palau is awesome, I went there in July. Flights are a pain but not too bad (and I was with my two kids). PG has some excellent diving, its about 3 hours from Manila via car and boat.

Also done Sipadan from HK but it means an overnight stay in KK on the way and another overnighter in Tawau on the way back due to the flight schedules (unless you go via KL which has better connections so I have been told).

On the subject of diving, not sure how many people are aware that RTHK has been showing a series in Monday nights about the waters around HK. Actually, its been pretty good.

Archives can be found here (sorry - no English)

Also note that one cannot stay on Pulau Sipadan any longer.

RE: Sipadan

there is also a limit of 120 divers per day and a single diver can only do 2 dives per day there. The rest of your day will be spread out diving either around Mabul or Kapalai etc.

Given the choice though I prefer Palau much more than Sipadan.
