CHINANET Guangdong province network

Things are likely to change when the new Verizon link to Shanghai is operational. Tencent's main website is in HGC. Other HK resellers and hosting companies are trying to catch up supporting CN hosting with China government authority (I presume).

There is a reason why they call it INTERNET!

You don't have to have your website hosted in China. Even domain names .CN can be hosted in USA or anywhere else.

In fact, China's network infrastructure is obsolete and slow. Your site may benefit if you have it hosted in the USA on a faster backbone.

Internet in china is split into two networks, north and south.

CNC and Chinanet don't talk to each other very well reach from one to another network is flaky. Those who want to provide the best reach are connected to both networks and based on your IP they will bounce you to either their CNC or their Chinanet IP's.

A server that is connected to both servers is referred to as one called "double link". I was hired a while back to do due dilligence on performance/reach of a data center that had this double connectivity.

The to be able to split the outbound connections you have to add a very large static route table to each server, so that you use the 2ndary ethernet interface when talking to your non default network. ie. If you are defaulting to say CNC, you must have all the IP address blocks of Chinanet and add them using the route command so that when you want to talk to chinanet you default to your chinanet router.

If you want to collocate in China, this is the best way of doing it.
