I am looking for an Eames Chair. I have so far found two suppliers Marc James and Aluminium, one is too expensive and the other is having problems sourcing the style I want. Does anyone know of any other suppliers in Hong Kong. I am not after the original licenced supplier but a good reproduction.

There used to be a shop in Causeway Bay called Tint living but they have moved out for building refurb I think. Do you know where they have gone?

If you are looking for the real deal there is a office furniture shop in Wan Chai called Frontier that sells the original Eames Lounge made by Herman Miller.

I bet it won't be cheap, they start from just over 3000usd in the states, but then again the quality is a whole lot different from a cheap knock off.

you might as well going to flea+cents on queen's road east, wanchai. 1/F up in a building near to habitu cafe.

and there is one shop Chan Mai Kee on staunton street in Soho area.. and em..

Modernlink in fortresshill, they used to be in soho as well but move to fortress hill. dunno if they still exists, chk this: www.modernlink.com

Hi,

I have seen one in a shop in Shun Tak centre, China merchants tower. The shop is right by the walkway out of the building and on towards IFC. If I recall the price for the chair is about 9500HKD and the stool would probably be extra. They have one in the showroom. Not sure if it is original, but if not then it looks a very good imitation.

I tried the Shun Tak place and the chair they had in, was inexpensive but the quality matched the price.

Eventually after almost giving up the search Marc James design got back to me. The quality of their manufacturers has gone up significantly, and they let me pick my favourite grain pattern from the stock they had in. They have a place on Peel Street in Soho now.

Aluminium still have the Herman Miller licenced model for $45k or $55k for the rosewood design which I got for significantly less.

Tint living has moved to Happy Valley, on Blue Pool right by the tram stop. I was never sure about the authenticity of Tint living though....
