Australian NRL

Does anyone know where I can watch rugby league games in Hong Kong? Just found out my home team the Gold Coast Chargers/Titans are back in the league again, so I have to give them my support.

If you have NOW TV, on the Australian Network there are 2 (maybe 3) Rubgy League games telecast each week. Am pretty sure it is 11am on Saturday and 2.30pm on Sunday they take the Channel 9 game. Around the same time they take the AFL.

Hope this helps a little!

Cheers!

Thanks man. I'm subscribed to the Australian Network, I think it's one of those free basic channels on Now TV. But I rarely watch it because I thought it was worse than ABC and SBS, but I think I'll start watching it more from now on.

For an Aussie guy/gal, Australian Network is the link to home. Has some great programs including AFL, NRL, Australian Story, 4Corners, Asia-Pacific News and Lateline.

It also has other Aus programs, albeit about 12 months behind the normal Aus channels, including Neighbours, Home and Away, The Inventors as well as some other great ABC-based Australian programs.

Cheers!

Mike, it's a good channel for the sport, defo. Kept me entertained on Saturday and Sunday afternoons when I wasn't so busy at work......Australian Rules, Super Six Rugby Union, Rugby League...plus they also showed the recent TRI-SERIES....

I wished they had those "articulate" late night foreign films on the Aussie channel like SBS. But having union and league is enough to make me watch it more often.

Australia network RL

The Rugby league is on Sat. at 09.30 and Sun at 13.30. The AFL is on about 5 times over the w`end too. You can go to their website www.australianetwork.com and get the program for the week.

Being new to HK we have recently subscribed to Now network and then I recently read that Cable 1 (think that`s the name and we knew nothing about it) will have the World Rugby and the Olympic Games next year.

Can we subscribe just for those events ? How do we find out about it?

Hi Wendy, I think you'll need to sign on for 18 months if you wanna get Cable TV, but if you get it now you'll only have to put up with them until early 2009. But the channels on Cable TV are mostly in Chinese except for the documentary, sports and news channels. I only got it for the soccer channels, but now they have exclusive broadcasting right for the olympic games I guess I can justify paying for two subscription tv services. Oh, and being from the Gold Coast, I'm not big on AFL. Watching a bunch of skinny men in short shorts bouncing a ball that isn't round just isn't my thing.

Thumbs down AFL v RL

You sound just like my husband! You are all just jealous of their great bods. We have a house on the Gold Coast too but haven`t lived there yet. Great place!
