Hello,

I'm making a trip to HK in September and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on Disneyland there(any good compared to the others?)? Think its worth it? Would there be anything for an adult or would it be too cheesy? I'm budgeting it in as a must see for now unless otherwise noted.

If no one has gone, would anyone be interested(both genders ok as I'm not gender sensitive either way)

BTW I'm not a kid....just one at heart

If you've been to other Disneylands ... prepare to be underwhelmed.

Interestingly today, there was an article in the SCMP (local paper) about how they're failing to attract visitors.

One point made was .. "there is not much to do" so most people leave by 3:30 and cant be bothered to stay back for the fireworks and evening festivities.

although i haven't been there i would recommend A visit to Ocean Park over disney land

disney land is good if your a kid aged 9 or below but older than that and its probably a real dispointment ..

there is basically one good thrill seeking ride, the thunder mountain (or something like that) .. everything else is a little tame...

Also its very small

so i would advise you not to go ..

if you want to spend a day at a theme park, go to Ocean Park. Disneyland is strictly for the kids and Mainland Chinese.

I went last week. My over-riding opinion? There seemed to be more shops selling Disney merchandise than actual rides. As soon as you get through the gates it is a mass exercise in extracting as much cash from you as possible. The 7 and 10 year old children I took liked it, but they had not visited any other Disney parks (they enjoyed spending their pocket money).

On the up side, the food wasn't that bad and the indoor shows were ok to shelter from the rain. I'm not a Disney kind of gal, but if you like that kind of thing I am sure you will enjoy the experience.

One more thing, be prepared to be trampled in queues. Adults elbowing small children out of the way to get ahead by a fraction of a cm. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Hong Kong Disney is quickly getting a reputation as the worlds worst Disneyland.. Such a shame they didnt follow the same guidelines that made fantastic Disneylands successful, like France, Japan and ofcourse the original in the USA..

In my opinion, Ocean park is far superior, a theme park that caters for the whole family, not just kids.

If you want a very cool Disneyland experience, you cant beat France's and the USA's, worth taking the trip...

It is a really small Disneyland. Have to say that I was disappointed going there. Took us only 3 quarters of a day to finish the park and it was on a Saturday as well.

i am local
i just wanna share my opinion and compare disneyland and ocean park

1. HK disneyland is the smallest one compare with the others in the world

2. in disneyland u can see mickey mouse(but they are people wear costume)
in ocean park u can see REAL PANDA!!!

3. there are many disneyland around the world, but there is only ONE ocean park in the world!!!

I am not gonna tell you which park is better, but i guess u understand what i mean,huh?

Thanks guys, I guess the verdict is overwhelmingly against Disneyland. I went to Ocean Park like 8 years ago and it was quite fun. Maybe I'll do a return trip there instead.
