| | | shower problem I wonder if somebody can tell me how to use these funny showers. The heater -gas- is on the wall, one has to turn the switch and it starts heating the water.
I have tried every which way, but it is either stinking
hot or cold. Or it starts out OK, than turns very hot or very cold. Is this the way it is supposed to work? I have tried both bathrooms and they are the same. I know this is s stupid Q? to ask but I hate sitting in the bathtub and prefer the shower. Does anybody has this problem?

| | | Is there not a dial on the water heater to control the temperature of the water? There is on mine and I set it in the middle. That works well for me and allows for good control between hot and cold water using the faucet weather in the shower or sink. | |

| | | The temperature control is usually a rotary click dial with three settings indicated with one, two or three red dots. | |

| | | You are right, the days when I used manually-started gas heaters were long long ago. | |

| | | Same problem here... Our shower used to be fine, we even used to have hot water in the kitchen.
Then our water pipe burst a while ago and they had to fix new pipes. Since then it is either cold or really hot.
To get hot water we actually have to open the tap completely, it somehow needs the full water pressure. The moment we close the tap a bit, or turn it into the cold direction (where "warm" used to be...) the heater switches off and it gets damn cold.
The water in the kitchen only gets warm when we open the hot water in the bathroom as well. And when we half close the tap, it gets cold again. Kind of wasting water.
We asked our landlord, his reply was:" You don't need hot water in the kitchen, a better dish washing liquid will do..." then he even bought it for us!
But don't care anymore, as we move out in two weeks...
