I am here on a work visa, not a dependant visa.
I was told by the few lucky ones that they had done it thru lawyers who build up a strong case on your behalf. Also, they say that immigration tend to be flexible in some cases.
I wanted to know the experience/options of few others before I decide my course of action.

I'm sorry to be blunt, but my experience with ImmD is that the rules are the rules. In this case there is really no ambiguity or room for interpretation - non-Permanent Residents cannot bring their parents to Hong Kong as Dependants (particularly since, if I understand your previous posts correctly you are also here on a Dependant visa, so you are actually looking to bring in an unemployed Dependant of an unemployed Dependant). I feel that if you have no choice but to live with your mother then you are going to need to do it in a country where you both already have the right to reside. |
