Bel Air on the Peak

What do people think about Bel Air on the Peak - we are a family with 3 kids and wonder wether this would be a good social and fun place to live. I want to be in a place that is very kiddy friendly has to be in Hong Kong as hubby works in Central - Are there any other places - have crossed off ParkeView so far - if there are any others can you please let me know.

Also, with High Rise flats should you worry about the hygene?

Lots of families in Bel Air from GeoExpat / GeoBaby. As far as I know there is also a GeoBaby mum / toddlers group that meets for coffee once in a while.

Building Hygiene is not an issue .. the facilities are top notch.

Not a great deal to do compared to living in Central, but there is an ok Supermarket (I think we have a better one in Baguio) a few good restaurants and a movie theater in walking distance (something that is not available to most of HK)

we're also home hunting and kind of find Bel-Air the nicest but worry about the transportation (for me, to Casueway Bay)
Some other that we've seen that's not bad is 80 Robinson Road, La Saisson, Gran Promenade.

Anyone else has any comments? We're also evaluating still.

The 69X minibus from Cyberport goes to Causeway Bay via the Aberdeen Tunnel. Takes only 15-20 mins

I'm really looking for something with an indoor pool and something that is kiddy friendly but nice also for adults to make friends easily. My hubby is worried about being in a high rise - is Cyberport the only place that has an indoor pool or are there others apart from this and Parkview?

We live in Pacific View in Tai Tam and that has an indoor and outdoor pool. My husband also works in Central and there is a shuttle bus that runs to and from Central every day. It is a bit further out though and takes about 30 minutes to get into Central. There are loads of families here with children and everyone is very friendly. My two children had no problem making friends right away.

Thanks for the info on Minibus. How much does it cost?
If we do stay there, I'm planning to take the Shuttlebus to ShunTak/ Sheung Wan and then hitch the MTR to Causeway Bay. Anyone here does that?
Looking at Bel-Air with agents, I see the lease prices are hitting the roof!

The bus costs $8. It takes only 20 mins during off-peak hrs.
The Aberdeen tunnel does get congested during rush hour, but if you leave a little earlier or even later you should be able to avoid it.

101-109 Repulse Bay also have a indoor pool. Shuttle to Causeway Bay takes about 15mn. Good facilities: playground, big outdoors pool, tennis, activities, restaurants, café, doctors, dentists, dry-cleaning, supermarket, and montessori. I don't live there anymore but I wish I did!

That trip from Bel-Air to Causeway Bay would take at least 1 hr door to door. The free shuttle bus from Bel-Air to Shun Tak runs every half hour or so, and the walk from the ferry terminal to the actual Chai Wan train is quite long.

We've just stopped using the shuttle altogether. Much better option for us (Phase 3) has been to take the 30X to Central and 69X to Causeway Bay...
