| I guess little confusion here... talking about Berry's point, its true there is no major diff between RTL and ROA as far as day to day life is concerned. Commenting on martykay's argument, as far as i know, even RTL holders can not be deported and they enjoy the same right as ROA as far as deportation is concerned... But i stand to be corrected, if not so. Answering Fiana's question, All chinese people in HK are cititizen by their nationality, whereas we expats become permenant resident after 7 yrs and thats ROA (Right of Abode). If we want to be HK citizen we need to do naturalization and abandon original citizenship... and i'm not sure if its allowed in all cases. |

| u find the physical difference on this page, scroll down: http://www.immd.gov.hk/ehtml/topical_8.htm bascially the word "permanent" is not present on the non permanent id card and there is no "The holder has the right of abode in HK" message as well. |
