| If you are near Tat Che Ave which is a short walk to festival walk, its a predominantly middle to upper class white colour professional neighbourhood. Theres a 7 eleven and a couple of HK style cafes just off Tat Che Ave, about 5 minutes walk from Festival walk... Kowloon Tong was the first location that we lived, in Broadcast Drive, near RTHK.
As to the pollution question, that is something that isnt as much of a problem there compared to other parts of inner kowloon, due to the main advantage of low rise apartment complexs, 10 storey's and less. Pollution overall in Hong Kong,is rather obvious, regardless of where you live.
I will say that you do get used to it, I cant recall any ill effects yet, apart from our bay view being hindered from time to time. The last month has been extraodinarilly clear, returning back to being smoggy the last 3 days.
Nothing to worry about really.
If you want bar action etc, Knutsford Terrace is only a short taxi ride away or a 25 minute walk from that location. Knutsford Terrace is Kowloon sides eqv to HK islands Lan Kwai Fong...
