The simple answer is no. If you can find a company who is willing to employ you AND sponsor your work visa, there should be no problems at all.

densa, Katanga's answer is correct and probably the best you can expect given the limited information that you have provided. In principle, companies don't care whether you are American/Canadian/British or Russian - assuming, of course, that you have the same skill set/qualifications (including languages).

Have gotten to know a few russians in HK who work in the financial industry - in IT and other departments, so no, there is no prejudice in the system which would prevent you from getting a job. Like Katanga said .. you need to find a suitable employer who will hire you and sponsor you. What sector are you looking at?

Hello Funkoplan, it's so great to know about that. would you mind to share some of your experience? Can you tell me how and how long did you find a job in HK? Through job agency or search by yourself? Do you like HK? Thanks!!

I am a Russian citizen, too and I have had a chance to work in diffirent countries including England, USA, Canada, Dubai, Kuwait and just recently got a job offer from Hong Kong. If you are not American or British citizen it doesnt mean you wont be able to find a job, remember you dont get a job because of your passport, you get a job because of your education, skills and work experience. Regarding a job hunt, through my experience, if you would like to work for a good company with a better pay - look for a job through your friends/network, etc as normally the best jobs dont get advertised. By the way, why do you want to work specifically in Hong Kong?
