Serviced Apartment in Lantau (Mui Wo)

Is anyone familiar with the serviced apartments offered by Finley Leung?

http://www.findleyleung.com.hk/profile.php

We are are looking at staying in Mui Wo on our next trip and would like a serviced apartment for 3 weeks to keep the costs of eating out down to a minimum. Has anyone ever stayed there? Or seen one of their units? We are looking at the smallest one, 30 sq meter (322 sq ft) which seems really reasonable for just $1500 a week.

Any other feedback on this agency would be great as they seem like a full service agency that could help us when we move to Hong Kong; serviced apartment for when we first arrive; agents for renting a place for the first 14 months in HK and then agents again when/if we are ready to buy. Plus they do decorating which could be handy if required since the trades people could be hard to find in Mui Wo. They look like a full end-to-end agency. And setting up a relationship now for our pre-move visits could be good too.

Any feedback would be muchly appreciated, as always.

Betty

When they advertise 30 sqm, expect to get a net size of about 25%-30% less. That is standard in HK. In some extreme cases it could even be over 40% less.

Where are you look to rent?

Mui Wo is pretty much in the middle of no-where and very much of a village type atmosphere. You're going to find it difficult to deal with if you're the type who eventually wants to move to an expat area like Central / South Side / Discovery Bay.

Ferry services are also relatively limited compared to places like Discovery Bay.

Thanks for asking KnowItAll. I should have mentioned it in my original posting but I figured I was now a "regular" here and was known to be retiring in Hong Kong; favouring the Mui Wo area.

So that is why we want a served apartment in that area. Last trip we stayed in Causeway Bay which was great for shopping and restaurants but this will be a pre-move research trip and we want to really get to know the area. We are looking at living in one of the villages around Mui Wo, not right downtown near the pier.

hktraveller: I know flats have gross/net sizes but didn't think of this for serviced apartments.

Has anyone out there stayed there before? Or at least seen one of the units?
