| | | Food Delivery- Sai Kung area Does anyone know which restaurants in or around Sai Kung deliver?
We tried Pepperoni's last night it was tripe. We waited 2 hours for the food to arrive and when it finally got to us we had to throw half of it away The Salmon pizza had barely a hint of salmon on it and the crust was impossible to bite through (the dogs enjoyed the challenge though!).

| | | Forget the name of the Indian restaurant .. Jojos or Kohinoor. Their outlet in Sai Kung delivers. No clue about their quality though... | |

| | | Off top of head,
Dia's (Indian).
Pizza Hut.
Bacco.
Sure a few of the others do as well but live so close to town so don't call out often.
Actually quite look the pizzas from Pepperoni's, but agree the crusts are pretty hard.
Try the New Orleans... | |

| | | Strangely . the crusts vary by location. I know the ones in Central seem a bit easier to bite down on, than the ones in Stanley.
Agree on the New Orleans .. also don't mind the Mexican one .. forget what its called.

| | | I know this is off topic but since you're talking about pizzas, any idea if New York Pizzah on Gough Street will re-open? They made the best pizzas in town, thin cornmeal crust, just like the ones in Little Italy, NYC. | |

| | | Kebabbq delivered ( if they are still in business ) who are located just past the Duke of York off Fuk Man Road, off the first lane before you hit 7 Eleven.
Most Dai Pai Dongs in Sai Kung if you yearn a Char Sui Farn or Yang Zhou Chai Farn, ie local food, do deliver, if you are within walking/bicycle distance.
But have to say, Sai Kung really wasnt a home delivery mecca, more a cook at home or eat out near Jaspa's, Steamers, Poets bar for some eat in pub grubb.
What Indian restaurants that still remain in business, ( Curry Hut closed down, sniff ) will probably deliver, I am pretty sure the one in Fuk Man road did, and the Thai restaurant near the HSBC also delivered.

| | | I believe the Curry Hut has been reincarnated and do delivery though their curries seem to have a very similar taste whichever one you order! Not sure if it's the same mgmt/chefs or different.
Not sure if you know but Steamers has been relegated to Sai Kung history now as well. They tried to push the rent up (to 140,000p/m or 190,000p/m depending on who you ask!). The space, and the one next to it which was a wooden furniture shop, are being turned into a Starbucks. The two shops on the corner opposite the Park n Shop are now one big Giordano type clothes shop too.
Since posting this we have tried Pizza Box which isn't too bad.

| | | WOW ! That is horrible news lammarite. Steamers was a hoot with the gang on a Sunday afternoon. What a shame to have that great spot taken over by a corporate bore.
I seriously hope the expat community of Sai Kung boycott that Starbucks and teaches the landlord a lesson. I know the rent was 80K there for quiet awhile which, when you consider the tiny location, was a fair price. 190K is just insane, and I highly doubt Starbucks will have the loyal patronage that Steamers had. Thats a lot of over priced coffee to sell, a bit over 1000 cups a day ( just to cover the rent, IMHO, they're dreaming, and in the process removed the best expat watering hole there.
Curry hut wasnt bad previously, if its reopened thats good but if their curries all taste the same now, they didnt previously. They did a mean butter chicken before and an excellent Rogan Josh. Its been a couple of years since we lived there, and nothing much changed, but i do remember an excellent Fish and Chip shop, but again, had to shut when the landlord doubled the rent the moment the lease could be renewed.
RIP Steamers, hopefully it opens up in a new suitable location where the rent is fair, but maybe that wont be such an easy task.. A real kick in the guts for the area though.

Will open in Feb some point on the edge of the old town (opposite Poets/Boozer and beside Pets Central).
