China Sourcing / Manufacturing - Career Leads Hello All, I know you've heard this one a thousand time but here we go again: I just want to put the word out that I am looking for a new challenge. I am currently working for manufacturer as their VP of Operation. I have pretty much done all I could for them. When I started, it was a USD $3.5 Million company. It is now close to reaching the USD $50 Million mark. Unfortunately, this is about all it will be able to do given its nature and its industry. So now it is time for me to move on to bigger and better things. I am a dynamic and result oriented macro-management executive who thrives and delivers on challenges. I am looking for a company that shares the same corporate values and who recognizes talent by providing potential to grow with the organization. I am a seasoned Operation Professional with experience in both US and European Mass market (Carrefour, Leclerc, Intermarche, Target, Big Lot, and a few others) as well as sourcing in china (Hardgoods, Textile, rubber, vinyl, plastic, wood, furniture, toys, and carpet) I also have a good number of years experience in Training and development at all level of the organization (frontline to management, layers to MDs) I do have an MBA in International Business and Economics and a 6 Sigma Green Belt. We all know it is hard to find something in HK but any leads would be appreciated. Thanks

Dont' bother mentioning anything less than 6 Sigma Black Belt. Besides, unless your work for companies like Mororola or GE even Master Black Belt won't open any door for you at least this is my experience in the Region.

Unfortunatly no. I understand a little here and there but nowhere close to conversational and that is my down fall so far.

Hello Phillipe, To be honest with you, my major concern with 6-sigma was really the focus on project management more than anything else.

Seriously, if your good and you appear to be. Why not take that "hero status " to the chairman of the company with a business plan to make his op into a 150 million dollar company. After all thats what restaurants are for, correct? If the plan is good and they trust your judgement / ability I am sure they will give you the opportunity to " thrive on the challenge" . Otherwise your just another fish in the pond, working a salary job in the comfortzone. Only the big sharks stay top of the food chain.

Hello Boris, I am not sure about the restaurant thing but I'll take your word for it. However in this particular case, tripling the annual at this level is just not doable. This is almost like Nuclear Fusion. We know how to do it, it is just more costly to get it done than the potential revenue it would generate. Nope, I am affraid that they have reach their crusing speed and just need to fight to it that way + or - a few points. The key point for them know is to work on process improvement and creative sourcing to try to better, or at least not worsen their material cost.
