| Manager position classified as general staff Recently, I heard that Department Manager's in some companies are part of general staff and are on the same pay scale and receive the same benefits as administrators, etc. My first thought is "no way" but thought I would ask to see if anyone has experience with this this type of manager situation. |

| Titles have no real value when comparing companies. I know people who are called Supervisors (presumably lower than "Managers") who run dozens of people and have P&L responsibility, yet I know Vice Presidents with no staff and no P&L responsibility. Our Office Manager doesn't have any staff, she's an administrator (I guess), doesn't have P&L responsibility, but does have huge power to make everyone's life easier or harder in the office |
