Investment Bank IT jobs

I have a degree in CS and over 10 years experience writing server side system in C++/Unix, but no industry experience. What are my chances of getting a job in an i-bank as a developer?

As a Hong Kong born Canadian, should I be able to get an ID card ? And not have to worry about getting a work visa ?

Thanks for any reply.

you should go for it

Collin, based on my personal experince I think you should go for it. The first teir banks might turn you down, but there are many 2nd or 3rd tier banks are willing to train you. The market is tight now, so it's the perfact time to enter ibanks.

I meant no experience working in an investment bank. I work for a card payment transaction company.

What banks would be 2nd tier ?

Thanks !

Thanks!

I realized the question was poorly worded after I posted it. I recognize all those names and I'd love to get an opportunity in any of them.
