Hi everyone,

A family friend is coming to HK in a couple of weeks with his teenage son from the US, who would like to check out cool nightspots in HK. Particular interest in live music.

Does anyone have suggestions I could pass on?

Any other suggestions for where the son could visit, go shopping for hip clothes, etc would also be much appreciated

Is he 18+ or under 18?

If he is under 18 then he isn't legally allowed into anywhere that allows smoking, so that is going to restrict HUGELY the number of places he can go.

If he's over 18 then I guess he's no different from the 20-somethings here who can advise.

depends on what kind of music - i'm a teen [i think the only one on this site, i feel special] so i know my way around HK, but it really depends on where his tastes/interests lie.
