Thumbs up Dimsum gathering Sat, July 28th!!!

I believe it's high time for another dimsum gathering again and an argentinian friend of mine will be visiting HK for the first time during the weekend of July 27th, so I want him to experience the authentic flavours of HK! He has requested I take him on a dimsum outing and I thought, the more the merrier, so he can try as many different dishes as possible.

So, I'm organising this for Saturday, July 28th and would like to make the invitation open to everyone, veterans or newbies of Geoexpat. The last time I organised this I think we ended up taking up two huge tables and we all had a wonderful time socialising over tea and goodies.

If I end up with quite a solid number of replies, I think I'll stick with the famous venue Maxim's Palace, City Hall, Central but all other suggestions are welcome. Let's meet in front of the restaurant at [b]12.30pm[b] that day. I will be there slightly earlier to grab a ticket number so we won't have to wait too long for a table.

So let's get ready fo a dimsum party!!

Went there this morning. They wanted us to wait 45 minutes for dim sum. Might be worth getting there at least 45 mins early to secure a table :|

I agree with Jay...We were there last weekend and had to wait 45 mints to an hour as well...So that's something to keep in mind abt Maxim's City Hall...What abt the Jade Garden in Star House over in TST? They've got a lovely view too...

I'm going to be getting there earlier to wait anyways. Will try to drop a certain company's name because whenever we do that we seem to head up the list pretty quickly. lol. Jade Garden takes a while too but I'd rather hit Maxim's Palace because they have the trolleys and my friend is visiting HK for the first time so that + the rowdy atmosphere would be quite fun.

Carlie, you're welcome to come along.

I have about hmmm....at least 12 confirmed joiners so far, so any others interested let me know soon. I'd rather have just one table then end up having to split into two tables. Makes socializing with everyone slightly less flexible.

I'd like to come along, but I'm not sure if my student will be taking her lesson at 1:30pm on Saturday. Can I be put down as a maybe? (:

Hi Mariposita

I'm a local chinese and I love 'dim sum' so much. But is it too late to join your gathering today?
