| | | what are the necessary documents for a Dependant Visa Application One of my friends is going to marry next month in Denmark with his gf,who is a local Hk resident. He wants to apply for a dependant visa in Hk after their marriage, but there are a couple of things i already tried to look for them but so far, i havent found anything related to dependant visas in the Immigration Department Site.
1. What documents do they both need in order to apply for the visa?
2. How long does it take to get the visa issued? ( In case of the application gets approved)
many thanks | |

| | | No specific amount, but the bigger the number you can put here (with supporting documentation) then, all other things being equal, the greater the chance of the visa being granted. | |

| | | No required amount but have to be able to prove that they can support the dependent.
Would guess they use the same guidelines as for domestic helpers and would be expecting approx $15,000 per month at least but don't know anyone who tried with lower monthly income.

| | | Dependent The minimum income should be at least HK$9,000. Also you need to pass the dependency test. if your income is much lower then immigration will say your spouse is coming to Hong Kong for work. and they will not grant dependent visa. | |

The immigration officer did tell me it would be useful if my bank account could be positive for a change

| | | Actually, what i'm about to ask doesnt have anything to do with the actual thread, but i don´t feel like starting a new thread, so i just post here,hehehe... Next year, i'm coming to Hk for work, and i want to buy the ticket now, but i dont know if i should buy a one-way or a two-way ticket, i don't have a working visa and i will not have it either before my arrival in Hk...Is it risky to enter Hk with a one-way ticket and a tourist visa? | |

If you are European, American, Australian then there should not be a problem. If from Asia, especially if you are not white, then it could be. Somebody slap me down if you think I am wrong, but that is my impression looking at the people normally in the immigration interview room at the airport. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8.
