Salary Increase

I'd like to know what is the average salary increase % one can expect/ask going to a new job (IT VP for a top tier IB) these days?

I am trying to gage to make sure I don't ask for too much or too little.

Appreciate if you could share your experience.

Lauren

freeier,

I presumed 2mil hkd is total comp?

If so, would it be safe to assume that VP level total comp is somewhere bewteen 2m and 2.5m hkd? do you know the average?

thank you.

no its a ficticious number. front office 2m is quite likely. IT depends on your exact role. some places if you are heading a team yes, if you are not.. no idea..
try ask for it and let everyone else know.

in reality i'd put the figures closer to 1m than 2m.

and u know what, from your ans, i doubt u will even hit 1m total. don't think you understand much about how IBs work yet. so just take the job and figure out enough before asking.

anyway it all depends. if you are working on front office trading systems or quant models, yes, the sky's the limit. if u are supporting others... hmmm.. well, cross your fingers.
