Hey there,

I haven't been back on this forum for a while, but here I am. I'm here in HK for a while, and I'm looking for people who want to form a small jazz band with me.

I play the trombone (i've been playing since grade 8, and i have just graduated from university, where I was the manager and trombonist of my own jazz band/jamming club). I need a drummer, a bassist, a keyboardist/guitarist, and maybe a few more horns and saxes. You will need to have your own instrument, and we will need to find a place where we can practice.

We'll be starting from scratch. I've got some real book material with me. It'll also be cool if we can write our own music. I've only been playing standards so far (+ latin, fusion, etc.), but i would also like to explore the horizons and try to incorporate more Zero 7-like electronica into what i'm playing this time. I'm into that.

Experienced jazz musicians preferred. PM me if you're interested.

Hi Mate,
Used to be a brass band Euphonium player, now blow the Valve Trombone, usually play trumpet music in as I'm a treble clef player but if we can get the trombone music changed from bass to treble I'd love to come along and have a blow.

I've gotta Flugal horn going for only HK$2,000 if you want it, Thought that I'd try out a bit of James Morrisson (Trumpet and Trombone Jazz man)but the mouth piece is far to small for my chops after blowing Bones and Euphs for years.........

I'm in DB, play weekly with and chap from the HK Phil and blow with the Bone section players of Stray Katz Big band but that's about it.

A small band would be very cool, there are pubs/ Restaurants in DB willing to give us a go, just need the players.....

Anyway, let me know about the horn or any ideas about the band.
