Husband of Permanent ID holder - Can I work?

I have a simple question but can't seem to get any answer to it from immigration. My wife is a Hong Kong permanent ID holder but has pretty much lived in the UK all her life. We are relocating to HK in August. Once in Hong Kong will I be looking for work and what sort of visa will I need? Will I qualify to work fairly quickly with her being a HKPID holder? Is it more straightforward to get a working visa if your spouse is a HKPID holder? I am the main breadwinner and my skills will earn us more money thus why I need to get working as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

yes. Apply for dependent visa, which gives you right to work. Check hk immigration website.

It will take you about 6 weeks to get a Dependant Visa assuming that there is no problem with the paperwork showing your legal marriage etc. Once you have that visa then you have the right to work without any further paperwork. Whether you can get a job depends on what skills you have and, in many fields, whether you can speak & read Chinese.
